Olivia Chechi-Ribeiro

Director and Lead Tutor in Primary, KS3 and GCSE maths

Hi, I’m Olivia! I am a qualified teacher and experienced maths specialist with over a decade of classroom experience. I’m the Founder and Lead Tutor at Bright Sparks Learning Hub, based in Chorlton, South Manchester. I launched the hub in January 2025 to create a calm, supportive space where children can build confidence, strengthen key skills and enjoy learning.

My background includes teaching across Key Stages 1 and 2, with additional experience in Key Stage 3 and GCSE Science during my time teaching in London. I’ve taught in Alternative Resource Provisions and Pupil Referral Units, and have extensive experience supporting children with SEND.

Before qualifying as a teacher, I worked at leading Russell Group universities – including Queen Mary, Royal Holloway and Imperial College London – as a Learning Facilitator and Scientific Projects Officer.

My academic journey began at the University of Manchester, where I earned a BSc (Hons) in Biology with Science & Society. I then completed a master’s degree at Imperial College London, followed by my Primary PGCE at the University of Manchester.

When I’m not tutoring, I love travelling the world with my husband and daughter, spending time outdoors, cooking, reading, and daydreaming about becoming an astronaut – I’m a bit space-obsessed!

Sofia Carcamo

KS3 and GCSE English Tutor

Hey, I’m Sofia! I’m a passionate educator with over fifteen years of experience working across a wide range of settings, from early years right through to GCSE. Most recently, I worked as a secondary English teacher and Literacy Lead, where I loved championing reading, writing and inclusive literacy practices across the curriculum.

I really care about creating inclusive, nurturing learning environments where children feel confident, curious and excited to learn.

I have a particular love for world literature and enjoy showing young people that education can open doors to new voices, cultures, and perspectives while also helping them see that their own experiences and ideas truly matter.

Helping young people find their voice and communicate with confidence is at the heart of what I do, and I always aim to make learning engaging, meaningful and fun.
